The Jones family has been providing construction services for over 100 years, beginning with
the formation of Jones Brothers Construction in 1921 by brothers Oliver & John. The business
passed to Oliver’s son, Jerve Jones, who (following a Pacific Naval deployment during WW2),
returned to Los Angeles to grow the business into one of the largest commercial contractors in
Southern California.
Over the next 60 years, together with his sons Greg & Kevin, Jones Brothers helped shape the modern skyline with construction of landmark commercial office towers, retail facilities, hotels, telecommunication structures, entertainment venues, museums, airport terminals, aerospace facilities, schools, and religious centers.
In 1987, Jones Brothers acquired another storied Southern California builder, C.L. Peck
Contractors, resulting in the formation of Peck/Jones Construction. Together, they boasted a
deep portfolio of landmark construction projects across Southern California, including The
Hollywood Bowl, Beverly Hills Hotel, Capitol Records, The Forum, Reagan Library, One & Two
Rodeo Drive, terminals at LAX and Chicago O’Hare, and many notable high-rise towers in
Southern California and Chicago.
Seeing a need for professional construction management services in the industry for both public
and private entities, Jerve became a founding member of the Construction Management
Association of America (“CMAA”) and later formed Jones Construction Management to provide
such a service to owners in need of competent construction oversight. That company was
acquired in a merger in the early 2000’s and in 2008, four generations later, Eric Jones
re-established Jones Construction Management to offer clients the trusted and high-quality
construction management services pioneered by the Jones family.
